Pool Update – BGC Waterproofing and Stainless Steel Repairs

On March 18th, BGC attended site to inspect the waterproofing damage to the pool and the rusting of the stainless steel fixtures. They advised that a further inspection would be arranged with the original pool contractor.

On April 1st, BGC returned with the original contractor to conduct a more detailed assessment. They confirmed that a repair plan would be developed and a schedule for the next steps would be provided.

In relation to the stainless steel rust, BGC initially suspected the cause may be copper in the pool chemicals. However, it has been confirmed that no copper-based chemicals are used in our pool. Our pool technician, Troy, tested the water and found the copper level to be 0.09 mg/L — well below the Australian Drinking Water guideline of 0.2 mg/L. Based on these results, it appears the rusting is not related to copper levels.

On April 24th, our representative met with Mark Hoes, Maintenance Manager at BGC. Mark confirmed that BGC will also address the stainless steel staining as part of the upcoming repair works.

At this stage, BGC has not yet provided a confirmed date for the waterproofing and stainless steel repairs. We are continuing to follow up with them and will provide residents with an update once a schedule has been confirmed.

Thank you for your patience.
